Ladies and Gentlemen,
Time grows short for Race for the Cure. Please consider making a donation to my cause at http://race.zetaman.tv. 75% of net fundraising dollars raised here… stay here. The remaining 25% is combined with Komen Affiliates nationwide, making Komen the largest private funder of breast cancer research in the world! Money used from this event will go to local Portland women who do not have insurence to receive mammograms. Please help me help others this year by supporting my participation in this year’s Race for the Cure.
If you are in the Portland area and want to join me, please register at http://www.komenoregon.org. We will be filming a webisode of the Real Adventures of Zetaman. So come on down, register, and make a appearence on RAZ!
Statement from the Susan G. Komen Foundation:
2009 Komen Portland Race for the Cure®
One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime.
Komen’s promise is to save lives and end breast cancer forever by: empowering people, ensuring quality care for everyone, and energizing science to find the cures.
2009 marks the 18th anniversary of Komen Portland Race for the Cure®. Join me in making a difference by supporting this year’s Race taking place Sunday, September 20th.
Your gift can save a life…
Did you know that Susan G. Komen for the Cure provided more than 8,500 screening mammograms for uninsured women in Oregon and SW Washington in 2008? You probably don’t know that an additional 37,000 local women ages 40-64 are uninsured or underinsured and go without life saving breast cancer screenings every year. That is why fundraising is more important than ever.
If every race participant can raise just $77 in addition to their Race registration fee, every one of the more than 44,000 uninsured and low-income women in Oregon and SW Washington will be able to receive life-saving breast cancer screening.
